Coins.ph Expands Crypto Payments, Lets Users Spend BTC and ETH via QRPh Nationwide

MANILA — Coins.ph has expanded its QRPh-enabled payment system to let users pay with Bitcoin and Ethereum at about 700,000 merchants nationwide in the Philippines, adding two of the world’s largest cryptocurrencies to the country’s national QR payment network.

The rollout builds on Coins.ph’s earlier QRPh integration for stablecoin payments and allows customers to scan a merchant QR code and have their crypto balances automatically converted into Philippine pesos at checkout. That means merchants receive fiat while users avoid the extra step of manually converting assets before paying.

QRPh is the Philippines’ national QR code standard, developed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, and is used across a wide merchant network for retail payments. Coins.ph said the new crypto-payment feature reaches roughly 700,000 QRPh-enabled merchants nationwide.

The company has framed the expansion as part of a broader push to make digital assets more practical for everyday spending rather than only for trading or long-term holding. Coins.ph’s own platform describes itself as a crypto wallet and exchange for buying Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in the Philippines.

Industry coverage said the update extends the company’s earlier support for stablecoins, including USDT and USDC, into Bitcoin and Ethereum payments. The added support increases the number of crypto options available at checkout while keeping the payment flow within the existing QRPh infrastructure.
